1909: The Company was founded under the name of Moloney Electric Corporation and commenced operation in Windsor, Ontario.
1920: Fire destroyed the Windsor plant and manufacturing commenced at the Sterling Road location in Toronto.
1959: Moloney Electric produced its first mobile substation.
1965: Moloney Electric in the US sold their single-phase transformer business to Central Transformer Corporation, which was subsequently renamed Central Moloney, Inc.
1969: A majority of the shares of Moloney Electric Corp. in Canada were purchased by a group of its managers.
1972: Started operations in Spruce Grove, Alberta.
1982: Purchased Sackville, New Brunswick operation from General Electric.
1986-89: Moloney Electric shares purchased by Hammond Manufacturing Company of Guelph, Ontario.
1994: Moloney became the first transformer manufacturer in North America to achieve ISO 9000 certification.
1995: Moloney sold the mobile substation business to Pauwels Transformers in Belgium. Moloney discontinued making power transformers and expanded its product line in distribution transformers.
1996: The company secured its first significant export sale order for distribution transformers in Bangladesh for 10,000 poletops.
1998: Spruce Grove expanded to include a refurbishment area and additional space for production.
2001: Hammond Manufacturing reorganized into two public companies, and Moloney was privatized with the management acquiring a 10% equity interest.
2008: Universal Power Transformers of India purchased the shares of Moloney Electric from the Hammond Company.
2009: Moloney Electric Inc. proudly celebrated its 100th year anniversary.
